Last night I attended a book signing and lecture by Zainab Salbi, the founder and President of Women for Women International - the NGO for which I volunteer. The stories of her life, and that of the lives of the photographers who helped complete this book, are absolutely stunning. What is even more, the stories of the women featured in their book are captivating - both depressing and hopeful in ways I can barely imagine, as I sit here in my well-appointed office, surrounded by the comforts of middle-class living. I highly suggest you both buy and read the book to support the cause and to educate yourself on The Other Side of War.
